Study Abroad

Program Suspension Update

The university has suspended all Spring Semester 2021, Summer Semester 2021, Fall Semester 2021, Spring Semester 2022, and Summer 2022 Semester study abroad programs at the undergraduate College due to continuing concern with COVID-19, travel restrictions, and the health and safety of our students and faculty. This suspension includes Saint Mary’s sponsored programs, affiliated programs, and short-term faculty-led programs.  We hope to restart study abroad programming in Fall Semester 2022.  Please direct any questions to Tracy Lehnertz, Associate Dean of International Programs, at tlehnert@smumn.edu.

Oh the places you’ll go …

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota encourages students to incorporate international study into their academic plans.

Studying abroad will enhance your liberal arts education by introducing you to stimulating learning experiences and encouraging you to develop a sense of global citizenship. Staff in the Study Abroad Office are available to assist you during all stages of the study abroad experience, which includes exploring various options, applying to a program, preparing for international study by participating in several orientation sessions, and returning to campus.
